Two successes to report: Bob Stanley (2/2) & Todd Lyght (2/2)



Bob Stanley was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the January 1974 secondary draft. Stanley made his major league debut with the Red Sox on April 16, 1977. He was named an All-Star in 1979, a year in which he pitched in 40 games. He won 16 games and lost 12, with an ERA of 3.99. He earned his second All-Star nod in 1983, when he was used exclusively as a relief pitcher. He appeared in 64 games and pitched 145+1⁄3 innings, recording 33 saves and a 2.85 ERA. Stanley was a key member of the 1986 Red Sox team that came within one strike of winning the World Series.

Todd Lyght played in the NFL for 12 seasons from 1991 to 2002, finishing with 37 interceptions and 4 touchdowns. His best year as a pro came during the 1999 season with the Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams, with whom he intercepted six passes for 112 yards and one touchdown and was named to the 1999 All-Pro and Pro Bowl teams.
