Two successes to report: Iain Fraser & Don August



Iain Fraser was selected by the New York Islanders in the ninth round, 233rd overall, in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He played three seasons in the AHL with Capital District before being called up by the Islanders. Fraser played seven games with New York during the 1992–93 season. In 93-94, his only season in Quebec, he recorded 17 goals and 20 assists for the Nordiques, both career highs. In his NHL career, Fraser played in 94 games, scoring 23 goals and 23 assists. Fraser made brief appearances with Dallas, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and San Jose to round out his NHL career.




Don August played four seasons in Major league Baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1988 to 1991. After beginning 1988 with a 4–1 record and a 3.52 ERA for the Denver Zephyrs, August was called up to the Brewers. He continued his success at the Major League level, going 13–7 with a 3.09 ERA and ranking ninth in the American League in winning percentage. He finished fourth in the voting for AL Rookie of the Year. In 1990, he pitched five games, and had a record of 0–3
