Two successes to report: Wade Miller & Ryan Sittler

Wade Miller Miller was drafted by the Houston Astros in 1996. Miller was one of the best young pitchers in the National League before injuring his rotator cuff in 2004 winning 45 games in a three-year period for the Astros. In 2001 Miller went 16–8 with 183 strikeouts and a 3.40 ERA. A free agent before the 2005 season, Miller was signed by the Boston Red Sox. He finished the 2005 campaign with a record of 4–4 and a 4.95 ERA. In a nine-year MLB career, Miller compiled a 62–46 record with 743 strikeouts and a 4.10 ERA in 880+2⁄3 innings.

The son of Hockey Hall of Famer Darryl Sittler, Ryan Sittler was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round (7th overall) of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. With the selection of Ryan he and his father became the first father and son selected in the top ten in the draft's history. Ryan played college hockey for the Michigan Wolverines but left school after his sophomore season and turned pro. A series of major injuries prevented him from playing in the National Hockey League and eventually cut his career short at age 25.
