Two successes to report: Doug Smail & Rob Zettler

Doug Smail played eleven seasons with the Winnipeg Jets, being a top two-way player for them, as he had twelve consecutive seasons in which he scored at least one shorthanded goal, with a total of 28 shorthanded goals in his career. Perhaps Smail's greatest claim to fame was when he tied the NHL record for fastest goal after the opening faceoff by scoring a goal five seconds after the game started on 20 December 1981. Smail finished his career with the Minnesota North Stars, Quebec Nordiques and Ottawa Senators, but his greatest seasons were with the Jets.

Rob Zettler was drafted 55th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play 14 seasons with the Minnesota North Stars, San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Nashville Predators and Washington Capitals. With Toronto Zettler enjoyed his most productive season in 1996-97, scoring 2 goals and adding 12 assists for 14 points. Zettler finished his NHL career with 569 games, scoring 5 goals and 65 assists for 70 points.
