Two successes to report: Kirk Dressendorfer & Mickey Klutts



Kirk Dressendorfer was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 34th round of the 1987 MLB Draft, but opted to attend The University of Texas at Austin. At UT he was a three-time All-American and All-SWC, posting a career record of 45-8, including a single-season record 15 complete games. He was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 1990 MLB Draft and posted a 3-3 record for the A's. Kirk was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009.

Mickey Klutts played seven seasons in Major League Baseball from 1976 to 1983 with the New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics, and Toronto Blue Jays. An infielder, Klutts was a favorite of manager Billy Martin, for whom he played in both New York and Oakland. He is a lifetime .241 hitter with 14 homers and 59 RBI.
