Three successes to report: Bob Zupcic (3/3), Ruben Amaro, Jr (2/2), & Keena Turner (1/2)

The Boston Red Sox selected Bob Zupcic in the first round of the 1987 amateur draft. He made his major league debut at Fenway Park on September 7, 1991, as a pinch runner and defensive replacement in a win against the Mariners. Two weeks later, he hit his first home run, against the Yankees. Injuries to starting outfielders and other key players resulted in the Red Sox finishing last. However, it did give Zupcic the opportunity to start regularly. He made the most of the chance, hitting .276, starting at all three outfield positions, and collecting 11 outfield assists in 124 games.

Ruben Amaro, Jr. played in Major League Baseball from 1991 to 1998. He was named the GM of the Philadelphia Phillies on November 3, 2008, and remained in that position until September 10, 2015. He is the son of former MLB infielder and coach, Rubén Amaro Sr. In eight seasons in the major leagues, Amaro appeared in 485 games, batting .235 with 16 home runs and 100 RBIs. He played for both the 1993 NL champion Phillies and the 1995 AL champion Indians.

Keena Turner was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 1980 NFL draft. A 6'2" 237 pound linebacker from Purdue University, Turner played in 11 NFL seasons and spent his entire career with the 49ers. A one time Pro Bowl selection, he retired from the 49ers with four Super Bowl rings. Turner famously played Super Bowl XVI with the chickenpox.
