Three successes to report: Todd Van Poppel, Ken Anderson, & Derek Plante

Todd Van Poppel played for the Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, and Cincinnati Reds during his thirteen year major league career. His best season was 1995, when he went 4–8 with a 4.88 ERA, splitting time as a starter and a reliever. He also notched 122 strikeouts in 138.1 innings that year. He finished with a career record of 40-52.

Ken Anderson was selected in the 3rd round of the 1971 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Over the course of his 16-season NFL career, Anderson led the league in passer rating four times, completion percentage three times and passing yards twice. In 1981, he was awarded AP NFL Most Valuable Player and AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year, a season in which he led the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance. In 1982, Anderson set an NFL record for completion percentage of 70.6%—a record he held for nearly 30 years until it was broken by Drew Brees in 2009.

Derek Plante played eight seasons in the National Hockey League for the Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers. He was a member of the 1999 Stanley Cup champion Dallas Stars. Plante skipped minor league hockey and jumped right to the NHL in 1994, replacing an injured Pat LaFontaine and scoring 21 goals. He played in 450 games, notching 96 goals and tallying 152 assists for 248 career points.
